Celebrating 10 Years : All in the name of LOVE ❤️
In a month dedicated to love, we celebrate a unique love story - one that is still unfolding. What might you ask? Love is often reserved for specific relationships. My love story is rooted in falling for humanity during my volunteer vacations, yet feeling empty every time they conclude. It marked the beginning of a commitment to love, to living purposefully, and being accountable for my role in making a positive impact. At the time, I had no idea how this journey would unfold, but I trusted the feeling deeply embedded in my soul.
It's ironic that on Valentine’s Day in 2014, the formalization of my non-profit was completed, transforming a Hallmark holiday into a celebration of what truly matters in this lifetime. We initiated our non-profit with partners from global communities, united by a desire to better the lives of those around us. We aimed to revolutionize the traditional operating model, focusing on co-creation, dignity, and relationships.
Our mission was anchored in purposeful change, recognizing that each small victory would contribute to a larger one. We committed to education, community development, and vocational training. Our partner programs in Kibera, Kisii, and Kakuma in Kenya, as well as in villages across Ghana, have demonstrated what we can achieve when we unite as one.
A decade later, we have made an incredible impact, learned immensely, and continue to evolve. Currently, we are positioning ourselves to reach the next level and fulfill our complete vision - hosting trips for others that combine our humanitarian work with our Compass Point program for small groups. Human leadership in life has always been part of our plan. Our journey is one of profound lessons, setbacks that redirected us, and recognizing when to step back and fortify the foundation. I hear the voice in my soul; we are exactly where we are meant to be.
In my heart, this new decade will see us continuing to dream big with our mission and daringly creating a movement that challenges us all to do more, be more, and impact more. Because at the end of the day, this isn't merely a dream - it's reality in the making. Creating a global community where love reigns, compassion knows no bounds, and every individual holds the power to affect meaningful change.
As we step into this new phase of evolution, I invite you to join me in renewing your commitment to a mission anchored in love. Let’s continue to be passionate, take bold action, be limitless, and create a world where purposeful living with a heart-centered approach fuels our communities. My heart overflows with gratitude for all of you, whether you've been with me for the decade or have just joined. Being interconnected is my kind of love story.
