Going to the next level

I often dread the start of the year when people ask about New Year's resolutions or promote the "New Year, New You" mindset. I've never been one for setting goals or resolutions in a new year. It feels daunting and like I'm setting myself up for failure with "BAG" (Big A** Goals). Instead of focusing on specific outcomes – let's focus on becoming better versions of ourselves, not a new you but a better you.

With the new moon, lunar new year, and planet alignments this month, it's the perfect time to cut ties with what held us back in 2022 and embrace what we've been working towards in 2023. This is our moment to level up in life. We don't believe in complacency, we believe in evolution. As we discussed in our Instagram Live with Courtney, "self interruption" is key to evolving. The idea of evolving might seem abstract, but it's just about becoming the best version of yourself.

Reflect on who you are, what you want, and what you need to do to get there. Be honest with your strengths and weaknesses, and take steps to do better. Ask yourself, "what do I need to leave behind that no longer serves me?" and "what's my next step in this growth journey?" If we don't actively work towards it, the idea of evolving can easily get lost in daily life. I take two approaches:

  • Self accountability: Every day, I make a plan to do something towards leveling up in each area. It can be small, like reading research, networking, or meditating. This is a private contract with myself that I review weekly to see where I can improve.

  • Group energy: Surround yourself with people who align with your goals and elevate you. Share what you're working on and absorb their experiences and ideas. This not only helps you achieve more, but also strengthens your relationships.

Having practices that allow you to tune into your deeper self, like meditation, journaling, or just quiet time, can help clear out the clutter. Find what works for you and make it a regular habit. If you need help getting started, a coach can be valuable. They can help you create a plan, ask you deep questions, and keep you accountable.

I'm offering complimentary coaching sessions in February to a select number of individuals in our community. If interested, please complete this survey and I'll be in touch soon.

Let's close out January, releasing what held us back, embracing opportunities ahead, and firing up to level up. We're all a work in progress and the world needs a better you. Self-interrupt, hold yourself accountable, take action. What's your first step?
